Honeywell launches new line of video technology

January 09, 2017

Honeywell has announced its new, cutting-edge line of video technology to help security professionals in the Middle East to more easily design connected building systems.

This announcement comes as regional government bodies take strategic measures to ensure security regulations are being enforced. As a result, enhanced smart video surveillance equipment is central to effective monitoring solutions across all industries, said a statement from the company.

According to 6Wresearch, video surveillance systems in the Middle East account for the largest of the security technology revenue share, it said.

To meet evolving market requirements, Honeywell has completely revamped its camera portfolio with the latest technology advancements to strengthen its security offering, these include:

• The equIP series cameras designed to produce top-quality imagery in the most-challenging of conditions.

• The MaxPro NVR, network video recorder, which significantly increases operators' abilities to quickly store and locate archived video, as well as more easily create integrated surveillance systems.

• The HDZ cameras that provide high image quality in low-light applications in vandal-resistant camera housing.

Fahmi Jabri, strategic marketing director for Honeywell Security and Fire, Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Africa (Merta), said: "With stricter security regulations, large-scale events such as the Fifa World Cup 2022 in Qatar and Expo 2020 in Dubai and regional visions across the Middle East, there is clearly a requirement for innovative security technologies that collectively work to keep our cities safe."

"Our new IP video surveillance technologies integrate new cameras that provide high quality video in ultra-low light environments with new cutting-edge technology that monitor the status of the systems that enable security excellence across the region," he said.

These technological advancements ensure that Honeywell's overall portfolio of video technology is confidently able to improve ease of use for operators across the region, simplify installation for security professionals, and provide higher-quality video to help protect facilities, said a statement.

The equIP and HDZ cameras and MaxPro NVRs integrate with Honeywell and third party ONVIF S products for a complete, fully integrated IP solution. In addition, MaxPro NVR status monitor allows users to more easily check the status of their system, it said.

The equIP cameras feature low-light capability, a simplified user experience, and quick installation. The line includes cameras that come in four megapixel (4MP), 1080p, and 1080p ultra-low light resolutions. These cameras feature wide dynamic range imaging, which provides accurate video capture in high-contrast lighting and extreme backlit scenes, and use edge enhancement for maximum clarity, it added.

To save installation time and integration costs, the equIP cameras support ONVIF Profile S and G and integrate with both Honeywell NVRs and third-party manufacturers.

The new MaxPro NVRs, equIP, and HDZ cameras are part of Honeywell's complete video portfolio that includes Performance Series, Embedded NVRs and Xtralis analytics, it stated. - TradeArabia News Service
