New Delhi is leading the LED revolution in India with major support from the government and industries. The LED Expo New Delhi 2019 commenced its 21st edition and was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. S.K Marwaha, Senior Director, Government of India, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
The expo sees a 14% surge in exhibitors this year, will showcase 389 exhibitors from 9 different countries along with India. The show has also shown growth in terms of exhibition space and international participants. Data gathered from the exhibition proves that LED Expo New Delhi 2019 is the most prominent platform to showcase the latest lighting technologies in India.
According to Mr. Marwaha, the manufacturing of LED lights has been the major focus of ‘Make in India’ initiative. In the last 4 years, LED production in India has seen growth from 2,100 crores to 13,000 crores in 2019. The government's various incentive schemes have boosted the domestic market of LEDs to produce globally competent products. Today India manufacturers up to 35-40% LED lights on its own.
