KOLKATA: The country's india air purifier market recorded revenues worth $27.17 million in 2015 and is anticipated to grow exponentially over the coming years as well, according to the latest research report.
The India air purifier market has gained majorly in the last one year with the entry of major global players, whereby at present around 50 companies are operating in the segment, the report by 6Wresearch said. The report said Sharp has emerged as the leader with a market share of around 23 percent in volume terms in the last calendar year, closely followed by Philips, Eureka Forbes, and Daikin.
"The overall air purifier market including room and car air purifiers would together witness a growth rate of over 160 percent," said Anuj Mehrotra, an analyst at electronics division, 6Wresearch.
"The companies should increasingly expand their market reach to Individual homes from current commercials and expats which should unleash the mass underlying opportunity. At present, the main challenge is the awareness and the distribution channel which, if addressed, should open new gates," Mehrotra said.
